If you love Salsa and Dominican music, this is the place to be. Because it is new and the prices are very resonable, it is think with Dominicans having a good time. Check it out. Lots of fun. It is next to the well known Sosua Life bar. Same side of the street. Oh yes, a clothing store is between the two.

'El Flow': a bar with style

Two months a new bar/colmado (small supermarket) opened its door in Sosúa's main street (Pedro Clisante). The bar is located directly next door to Fat Herman's bar and cigar store. Now it's nothing new for a bar to open in the Pedro Clisante or, more often, to close down. But the interesting thing about this bar is that the Presidente beer only costs 50 pesos (for a small bottle) and 80 pesos (large bottle).

Not only that, but the music is real Dominican - plenty of merengue and bachata numbers, with the odd reggaeton song thrown in for good measure, which is lot better to listen to than the standard disco beat played in other disco's and bars. So its not surprising that the bar is always packed out with people who enjoy the night life in the town, but only want to pay a reasonable price for their beer and enjoy the Dominican atmosphere.

Jolly Rogers:New 'Pub & Eatery'

Another Canadian bar is opened. Two Canadians (Niki and Jody) have bought the property beside the now closed Benelux Bar in the main street (Pedro Clisante) and have done a great job in this brand new facility. You can get a good meal here for a very affordable price. They do not charge the extra tax at last count. 'What you see is what you get and pay for'. Check it out.

Happy Bar is always fun

It used to be called the Pluto Bar - where the music mainly consisted of the usual 'house' and disco numbers. But the bar is now under new management and this policy has changed. The name has been changed to the Happy Bar, and visitors to the bar now hear mostly Latin American music, along with merengue, bachata and salsa numbers. In between, for more variety, they also play classic 1970s pop music. As you enter the bar you are immediately greeted by friendly waitresses, so you feel welcome.

The beer is very cold, and there are often people dancing, so the place has a real Dominican feel, with its friendliness, good music (no boring 'house' beat) and welcome by the owner and personnel. When it's quiet then the waitresses start dancing and suddenly everyone joins in. This bar is certainly worth putting on your list to visit during your next evening out on the town. The Happy Bar is located on the corner of the Calle Pedro Clisante and Calle Duarte.

La Passion Bar and Exotic Massage Parlour

A great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The girls are friendly and very professional. A good place to socialize and just have a beer. Right on the main street of Sosua. This is a very popular spot in Sosua and is owned and operated by Europeans. Ask for the owner Peter. A great guy. His phone number is ( 809) 875-1405 if you have any questions.

Quixotes restaurant and bar

Sosúa's newest restaurant. . Scott and Dori opened Quixotes on 22 May , its already becoming a very popular meeting place.
The restaurant is very nicely designed with an informal atmosphere. The menu offers not only great meat and fish dishes, but also some delicious specialities, such as Thai curry and Japanese stir-fry!

Quixotes also offers wireless Internet: they have seven laptops available to borrow to check your e-mail etc.

Check it out and support the new businesses of Sosua. On Sosúa's main street (the Pedro Clisante):It is past the Progreso bank, about 100 yards further on the left-hand side.

Small bar past Passions , same side. Lots of pretty girls working behind the counter. A nice getaway from the hustle of the large popular bars such as Merengue or Sosua Life. Also offers massage in the back.

Right beside the New york shark bar. Operated and owned by none other than my dear friend Yocasta. Great music and great looking girls. Liliani is a sweatheart. Smal but great atmosphere.

Merengue Bar/ D'Classico/Club 59, upstairs... The place to be for now.

Club 59

Plenty of girls. Very nice layout and very popular..the best for now 06. Most of the bars are not charging any cover unless they have a popular live band for a night. For that, it is usually 100 pesos.

Club 59 / D' Classico , dance club upstairs from old/new Merengue bar. Its the hottest ticket in town. Much more room than the Latino Club.

SOSUA LIFE BAR...used to be the MIAMI BAR. Nice layout and very clean restrooms. BONUS for Sosua. Operator and manager , WILLY OLIVENCES. Good to move back and forth between Merengue and Sosua Life. That's what the girls do.

CLUB LATINO's . the new Latino's Club

History repeats itself: at least that's what they are saying in the Life Bar. They have now made a very nice disco behind the Life Bar, which has been named Latino disco. This disco looks very good, and the new Latino Club has been fitted out in excellent style. They've included a good dance floor, surrounded by a slightly higher area with plenty of seats, plus a beautiful long bar with lots of comfortable bar stools.

Everything looks sub-tropical, with fantasy-like wall paintings and nice mirrors. The DJ sits high above the dance floor, and therefore has a good view of how his music is appreciated by the general public. We hope that the DJ doesn't do the same as in 'd Classico - just play disco beat numbers - but includes a mixture of Latin American music such as bachata

A great small Pub/Sandwich Bar/Eatery with a reputation for a fantastic hamburger and friendly atmosphere. Drop in when you're in the area! You will find a ton of Canadians there. eh!

Note! This is not a pickup bar. It is more tourist and family oriented, so don't expect to find many Chicas there, although you are welcome to bring your date for a brew or burger..It is of worthy mention, because it is a great place to meet and the owners are great people.
